A ticking baby bomb, yes, that's what I am :)

Here I am, big belly, sausage fingers and all, just waiting for little Mac to start knocking at the door to meet everyone. I don't feel like I have an inch of space left in me and all my insides are so squashed! Just an example was tonight when Ray and I ate dinner, I stood up and let out an involuntary burp...I guess my poor stomach had been waiting to let that out, and how lady-like did it sound! :) I can't believe this journey is coming so close to an end. I have to say that it's been a really good pregnancy overall. I've been fortunate enough to not experience morning sickness, horrendous back pains, or excessive weight gain (thank goodness).

Despite me moisturizing my belly twice a day and massaging, nothing can keep the stretch marks away. I believe a lot of this has to do with genetics, not how religiously you apply your special lotions, belly balm or body oil (I tried several). Ray found a picture with a woman's stomach displaying some stretch marks and a caption on it saying, "your body is not ruined, you're a tiger who earned her stripes." He didn't want me to feel disappointed once I started to see those lovely marks appear. :)

So now my hospital bag is packed at the front door, along with a soon-to-be-occupied infant car seat. Every now and then I stop myself in the midst of all the baby preparations and sometimes look in the mirror and think, "I'm going to be a mother?!" Yes, yes that is true and there is a huge ball of emotions that go along with it. There is certainly no turning back now, I'll give it my best shot, I can't wait to meet my son and hope I can be a great mother.

Now here I sit in this roller coaster all buckled in and waiting for it to start and holding on tight, Mac just needs to press start.
